Here's a book review on the first book in the famous Chronicles of Narnia!
"Is Mr. Ketterley really mad?"
"Well either he's mad," said Digory, "or there's some other mystery. He has a study on the top floor and Aunt Letty says I must never go up there. Well, that looks fishy enough to begin with...
-C. S. Lewis, 'The Magician's Nephew'
Digory has moved to London, and is living with his ill mother, a very strict Aunt, and a supposedly mad Uncle. Digory is very lonely and bored until he meets Polly, a neighbor girl. The two become fast friends, but they also, though curious, stay as far away from Digory's Uncle Andrew as possible. Is Digory's Uncle mad after all? Or is he the only one who isn't?
The first 'Chronicles of Narnia' book is very promising and introduces the delightful adventures to come as Digory and Polly pave the way to Narnia.
I recomend the lowest age for this book is 8 and up.
