Here's a book review on 'The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place, book 3: The Unseen Guest.'

'"Lumawoo! Ostrich!" Cassiopeia sounded highly excited. But Penelope was not looking in the same direction.
"Lumawoo!" All three children gestured wildly. "Ostrich!"
"Yes, I can see that." Penelope was stunned, for before her stood what was indisputably an ostrich.'
-Maryrose Wood, 'The Unseen Guest'
Miss Penelope Lumley and her three pupils, the Incorrigible Children, are having an exciting time at home in Ashton Place. Although they live in England, one morning they come face to face with an ostrich, which Miss Lumley had assumed lived only in Africa. She is correct, and now she and the children are curiously wondering where the ostrich came from. But they are also trying to survive Lady Constance Ashton's panic when they all learn that Lord Fredrick Ashton's mother is coming to visit for the first time. In fact, this will be the first time Lady Constance will have met her mother-in-law, because she has been mourning her husband's death for years, and did not even attend her own son's wedding. But would she really not attend her own son's wedding?
Ages 8 and up would be good for this interesting and uproariously funny story about three children and their governess.
