Book Review on: The Green Ember, book 1 By S. D. Smith

Updated: Oct 23, 2021

Here is a book review on one of my favorite series of all time, 'The Green Ember' book 1!

"Like Tolkien, I view this story (and this series) not as a propagandistic allegory, still less a religious tract, but a true story. A faithful story."

-S. D. Smith

Heather and Picket are a brother and sister who live in a small village called Nick Hollow. Their home lies next to the Great Wood, and their parents say they must never go there.

But as disaster strikes the two's lives and everything they know and love seems to fall apart, they start to see and hear things that make them think the Great Wood is more than just a broken place, but the remains of a whole place. A wonderful place. A true place.

The first Green Ember book is full of perilous adventure, hidden truth, and beauty when all seems hopeless.

For this book I would judge eight and up.

There are 365 pages in this book.
